Austin Trailers for LiveSTRONG

Here in Austin, our desire to support local businesses is what has helped build our amazing food trailer scene. Now the trailers are working together to raise support for a local charity. It’s one you may have heard of, LiveSTRONG, you know, the one with the yellow wristbands. LiveSTRONG is based here in Austin and has been doing amazing things to help those in the fight against cancer all around the world.

Leading the charge behind this fundraiser is Willy from Way South Philly who is an ardent LiveSTRONG supporter. His plan is simple, he and his fellow trailer owners will simply give out free wristbands while extolling the virtues of LiveSTRONG to their loyal customers who can choose to donate what they want. With the rapid growth of the food trailers scene and it’s impact on Austin’s culture, Willy hopes to use this power to benefit a cause he truly believes in.

This fundraiser will be running from September 1st through October 2nd, which is LiveSTRONG day. On the 2nd Willy will also be hosting an unofficial run/bike ride around Town Lake and ending at 6th and Waller to celebrate the end of the fundraiser. Everyone is invited to join. So if you are an avid food trailer customer, which if you are reading this blog I’m guessing you are, then bring a couple extra bucks with you next time you go out. Participating trailers will have flyers and buckets of yellow bracelets by their windows. You’ll be supporting both a great cause and the amazing food trailer scene here in Austin.
