Do You Have What It Takes?

Do You Have What It Takes?

Do you have what it takes?  I mean, do you really have what it takes to start your own food truck?  Well, if you’ve ever been on the fence about it, this sure sounds like your time to dust off that great idea of yours and put it to the test.  In the first annual Trailer Truck-off one Austin agency is giving locals the opportunity to compete for a 6-month stint running your own food truck.

Time is ticking though!  You have send them your info, including a business plan, by April 30th.  The showdown itself is scheduled for May 4th.  So what are you waiting for?  If you think you have what it takes, maybe you can be the next Peached Tortilla, Chi’Lantro BBQ, or Torchy’s!

Here are the official deets:

ATX Brands is excited to announce the first annual Trailer Truck-off, a brand new food trailer challenge where prospective chefs will compete for a chance to run their own food truck in the Historic Scoot Inn’s backyard on Saturday, May 4.

Contestants will square off and the winner of the Trailer Truck-off will be decided based on originality, taste and presentation. The winner of the challenge will be determined day-of and will be awarded a six-month contract to operate the Zorro Food trailer.

Austin has been home to some of the best food trailers in America, said Doug Guller, CEO and founder of ATX Brands. We want to contribute to that tradition and offer an aspiring chef an opportunity to put another great trailer in the mix.

To enter, contestants must by 18 years of age or older and must email their name, bio and concept proposal, which includes an original concept, menu and business plan, for the food trailer to TrailerTruckOff@GiantNoise.com by April 30. ATX Brands CEO Doug Guller will select seven contestants for the challenge and will be joined on the panel of judges by some of Austin¹s finest foodies.

Contestants are required to provide their own ingredients and items that need to be prepared, present a menu and prepare one signature dish at the competition based on their concept.

All recipes, names and branding used in competition or during terms of the contract will be property of ATX Brands and the winner will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the food trailer. The owner will receive an 80% stake in the Zorro food trailer for the term of the contract and 20% of gross revenue will be paid to ATX Brands on a monthly basis.
