Cunningham’s background is far from ordinary, having served as actor Steven Seagal’s personal chef, acting in a variety of films and television shows, and winning Star Search Singapore. She began her foray into the culinary profession watching her family cook
while growing up in Singapore. When she started cooking herself she discovered inspiration in “watching people’s eyes roll back when they eat great food.” Cunningham has turned her own personal love for food, along with family and selftaught cooking
lessons, to bring delicious noodle dishes to Austin. DFG Noodles gives Austinites a taste of a whole new type of Asian fare such as The Emperor (a.k.a Laksa), a famous creamy coconut curry noodle soup dish in Singapore but little known to Austin. The quickly expanding trend of Japanese ramen noodles in the Austin food scene is rivaled by DFG, not only for its unique approach to Asian fare (specific to the southeast region), but for its untapped food concept altogether. Instead of various toppings and
broths with egg noodles as is with ramen, DFG offers a little bit of everything. Each bowl contains a divine treat, with noodles ranging from dainty thin vermicelli to hearty Chinese rice noodles, sauces and broths distinct in their own flavors, and delectable toppings combining meats and herbs in perfect harmony. DFG Noodles has a small menu, but what we do have, we make sure it is Dang Freakin Good!
